Rex and his team have a unique blend of talent and experience that they bring to every one of their headshot clients.

Rex Lott is a professional headshot and fashion photographer based in New York City. His years of experience and training have provided him with the opportunity to shoot for many major NYC model and talent agencies, catalogs, ad campaigns, and countless actor's headshots.

Rex grew up in Akron, Ohio where he was strongly influenced at a young age by his mother, a district manager for Avon Cosmetics. The exposure to beauty products and makeovers triggered his artistic sensibilities and his understanding of the potential of beauty.

At 15 he started shooting for his high school newspaper and went on to earn his BA in Photography and Cinema from Ohio State University.

Rex moved to Miami at 22 to begin his career as a freelance photographer. In 1997, he was recruited by Click Models in New York City and became the director of the new faces division. During his 8 years with Click, Rex specialized in discovering and developing the talent and portfolios of new models.

In 2005, Rex went on to focus his experience solely on Rex Lott Photography and since has enjoyed a successful career that allows him to practice his craft and his passion.

With a background in fashion and beauty, Rex has parlayed his talent into working with actors to get the perfect headshot that is attractive while projecting personality and connection.

Our studio manager, Shawn Allen McLaughlin, is an actor most recently seen as a reporter in Steven Spielberg's The Post and in HBO's The Undoing.  He is on set with Rex during a shoot to provide coaching and character thoughts to the actor to achieve a wide range of emotions and character types.  This technique also helps distract the client form being nervous in front of the camera.

We are involved in the NYC entertainment business every day.  We keep up on trends, styles, and an understanding of how to make headshots pop on casting directors' data bases (like Actors Access and Casting Networks). Our three look package includes different lighting styles and background colors because agents and casting people like a variety to work with.

Your headshot should be more than a pretty picture.  It should show character, personality, and a glimpse into who you are as an actor. We take our work very seriously using our collective tools to create the very best headshot to get you into the door of agents and casting directors.

We also have a lot of fun!
